Physical Requirements | This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; working in confined spaces; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and cuts/punctures. |
Shift | Day shift, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with some holiday requirements. Hours and days of the week are subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. Requires occasional on-call shifts as needed. |
Job Summary | This position will provide a variety of specialty pharmacy services aimed at improving the care for patients enrolled within the UK Specialty Pharmacy service. This position will provide oversight of a variety of areas, including appropriateness of prescription processing, workflow improvement, mail order support, patient counseling, and coordination of prescription with clinic-based and call-center based specialty pharmacists. This position will provide a high patient-touch service while obtaining affordable access to these medications, both cornerstones of a high functioning Specialty Pharmacy. Establish safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; a “team” mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position. |

Preferred Education/Experience | PharmD and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program (or equivalent experience) preferred. |
