Juddmonte Assistant Property Manager (Horse Farm) in Lexington, Kentucky
•Responsible for helping lead building and grounds maintenance operation in support of thoroughbred horse breeding. •Assign day-to-day tasks in the areas of grounds maintenance and the maintenance of animal quarters and facilities.•Observe animals for signs of illness, injury or unusual behavior, notifying managers as warranted.•Ensure that horses have sufficient hay, straw and/or shavings for their comfort and safety. Assign workers to replenish these when needed.•Participate in the inspection and maintenance of barns, sheds and other buildings to ensure all areas are in excellent condition for the safety of workers and animals.•Participate in the inspection and maintenance of paddocks, tracks, fences, run-in sheds and other outdoor facilities to ensure that all are in excellent condition and safe for workers and horses.•Participate in the inspection and maintenance of vehicles and equipment to ensure that all are in excellent condition for optimal performance and safety.•Participate in recruiting and interviewing prospective workers.•Coordinate work schedules and procedures for personnel maintaining grounds and buildings.•Train workers in basic horse care, maintenance duties and safety precautions.•Identify work to be performed to maintain buildings, fences, fields, supplies and equipment.•Direct and assist workers in maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds as needed.•Prepare reports concerning horse care, facility activities and employees’ work records.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years as farmworker with experience in the following:•Maintain and repair farm equipment•Operate farm equipment•Feed and water horses according to schedules and feeding instructions•Assist with treatment to prevent or address illness or injury of horses TO APPLY: Send resume to humanresources@juddmonte.com
