Job Summary | Student workers in the College of Design Fabrication Lab are the first contact point for all students who seek the lab’s services and its tools and equipment, including digital tools. As a student worker you will help guide your student peers with the physical and digital processes central to the College of Design curricula. From planning to execution, you will work as a part of a team to provide hands-on support while promoting an environment of inclusive and collaborative learning. Student workers also provide operational and maintenance support by performing routine quality and safety checks to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the Fabrication Lab. What a typical day includes: • Assisting peers with a variety of fabrication techniques and projects including wood working, laser cutting, CNC milling and metals. • Checking out/in borrowable tools • Maintaining inventory You should apply if: • You are interested in furthering your knowledge and experience in design technology using a variety of fabrication methods • You enjoy collaborative opportunities with your student peers in and out of the College of Design • You are comfortable helping others solve problems with a kind a patient attitude Federal Work Study eligible students are encouraged to apply. |
