Job Summary | Office description: The Graham Office of Career Management is the in-house career center specifically serving undergraduate students in the Gatton College of Business & Economics. The Graham Office provides students with support in career development all throughout their time at the University of Kentucky. Purpose: The Marketing & Communications Intern will report to the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement within the Graham Office of Career Management. The position will support efforts in expanding the digital reach of Graham and developing content to share with stakeholders. Modality: In-Person | Hours: 10 hours a week | Pay: $13 per hour Reports to: Hayley Hollenberg, Assistant Director of Employer Engagement Job Responsibilities Graham Office LinkedIn Account 1. Assist in creating engaging and informative content for the office’s LinkedIn platform 2. Manage and maintain the office’s LinkedIn presence, including regular updates and interactions with followers, as well as updating the office website 3. Develop strategies to enhance the office’s presence on LinkedIn, including but not limited to increasing engagement, follower growth, and brand visibility 4. Collaborate with Graham team members to brainstorm and implement innovative ideas for LinkedIn content Graham Office Website (“Navigate”) 5. Contribute to website development efforts by creating compelling content and assisting in the expansion and improvement of the office website, Navigate 6. Utilize uConnect (website design platform) to build website features and functionalities 7. Assist with managing email communications through Navigate General Office Marketing 8. Assist in the creation of marketing materials for the office, both in print and digital formats 9. Ensure consistency and coherence in messaging across all marketing channels 10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in marketing, communication, and web development to continually improve strategies and tactics 11. Provide support in various marketing and communication projects as needed, such as corporate sponsorship packages Preferred Qualifications & Skills: 1. Currently enrolled in a relevant field, such as Marketing or Digital Communications 2. Strong writing skills with the ability to create engaging and error-free content 3. Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, and a keen interest in leveraging them for professional purposes 4. Basic understanding of website development principles 5. Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva is a plus 6. Organized, attentive to detail, able to work independently and collaboratively, self-starter 7. Your task is to develop promotional materials for an upcoming event: Careers & Cane’s — a casual networking opportunity where students can enjoy Raising Cane’s Chicken while hearing from a panel of professionals about a certain topic. For this assignment, you can use the following details: • Event Name: Careers & Cane’s: Non-Profit Edition • Date: April 16, 2025 • Time: 12:00 - 1:00 PM • Location: Woodward Hall, Room 307 (in Gatton B&E) • Registration Link: https://uky.joinhandshake.com/events/1659605/share_preview Create the following three pieces of content to market this event: 1. Event Design - Develop a visually engaging design (flyer, social media graphic, or digital poster) that captures the essence of the event. Your design should be eye-catching, aligned with the tone of our office, and clearly communicate the event details. 2. LinkedIn Caption - Write a caption for a LinkedIn post promoting the event. Keep it professional yet fun, with a call to action that encourages engagement (e.g., RSVPs, tagging a friend, or commenting). 3. Promotional Email - Write a short, engaging email inviting students to attend Careers & Cane’s. The email should be concise, compelling, and include key event details while maintaining an approachable tone. *Note: The design, email, and caption can be on the same PDF document.
