An entry level position for a high energy, detail oriented and organized individual pursing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field or related field of study. This role will focus on projects related to Lab testing of rubber materials: Learn fundamentals and participate in batch release testing, etc. Support a variety of basic physical property testing. Dispensing R&D, and Material R&D.
Engineering research and development intern for elastomeric (rubber) compounds (minor focus on plastics, metals, composites, etc.) for components/systems of various scope and complexity used as seals, diaphragms, isolators, boots, etc. in various markets with a concentration on automotive, renewable energy, and aerospace. Understanding of analytical techniques is desired to conduct physical tests on elastomers.
Some essential functions include (but not limited to):
Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
Perform analytical/functional testing of rubber compounds and products.
Utilizes industrial automation equipment to support prototype developments.
Evaluates findings to develop new concepts, products, equipment or processes, or to develop applications of findings for customers.
Analyzes and interprets test data to prepare technical reports for use by engineering or management for planning and marketing personnel in sales and technical services activities.
Assists in developing new elastomeric compounds in all polymer families for various applications.
Reviews drawings/prints to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Supports R&D process trials.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities.
Currently enrolled in, or completed degree in related field, such as: Engineering or Technical field.
Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Ability to work in person from June 2025 – August 2025 full-time.
Ability to work effectively in a variety of environments and assignments.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
