Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Technician with a focus on shipping/packaging assembly. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, preferably within the packaging sector. You will be an integral part of the process and manufacturing teams, implementing the NAM Primary Packaging Roadmap as dictated by the PP/PS Sustainability Team.
Responsibilities
Participate in the process and manufacturing teams to implement the NAM Primary Packaging Roadmap.
Conduct research and studies on sustainable packaging products suitable for local site implementation, including coordinating formalized testing at laboratories.
Coordinate with manufacturing, process teams, procurement, and other departments to implement new sustainable materials.
Lead the local team to ensure all aspects of the project are implemented effectively.
Physically assist with label changes, warehouse changes, workstation modifications, bin changes, etc., as needed per project.
Research and procure new fixtures, tools, bins, work stations, etc.
Provide hypercare for new sustainable materials that have been implemented and continuously resolve issues with new implementations.
Assist with reporting to the PP/PS Sustainability Team on project updates and completions.
Conduct financial impact analysis per project, including cost analysis and cycle time analysis.
Assist with work instruction modifications and document technical and generic specifications of the packaging process, including line layouts, station layouts, capacity and workload balancing, and preferred component usage.
Ensure assembly process deliverables are aligned with global assembly process practices.
Coordinate and assist with equipment installations and validations.
Essential Skills
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
3+ years of experience in Manufacturing/Process Engineering
Experience in manufacturing, preferably in packaging
Knowledge of material handling
Proficiency with SAP ERP
Project management skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with line layout, kanban, and new product development
Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic manufacturing setting where you will interact with various teams to implement sustainable packaging solutions. The role involves physical tasks such as label changes, workstation modifications, and coordinating equipment installations. You will use tools such as SAP ERP and work within global assembly process practices. The environment is collaborative and focused on sustainability and continuous improvement.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.90 - $37.86/hr.
