Job Summary | The Department of Radiation Medicine Services seeks an On-Call Radiation Therapist to provide radiation treatment delivery. To accurately & efficiently treat patients according to the doctor’s radiation prescription. Observe patients for unusual reactions & events. Observe radiation safety measures for patient & personnel. Assists in tumor localization procedures. Provides general patient care. Performs cut MLC & electron block cut outs. Maintain patients treatment records daily in Mosaiq/ARIA with electronic documentation. Accurate charge code per patient. Maintain notes on any unusual or complicated setups in the patients treatment chart. All scheduling of treatment times for patient. Observe daily date & time of treatments. Print Dose Site Summaries for MD evaluations. Additional information such as bolses or wedges used. Performs port films & weekly portal images of treatment fields. Performs CT based simulations in accordance with the Oncologist’s cure plan. Properly marks patient & submits CT plan to physics. Schedules return patient visits & assists Oncologist with basic CMS planning details. Records all patient setup instructions in electronic chart. Submits electronic documents pertaining to simulation. Creates KV templates for IMRT/IGRT treatment. Accurately perform daily QA on the treatment machines. Focus on machine characteristics such as tolerance levels. Notify physicist to look at proper documentation of variance variables in machine dose output. Maintain daily QA record logs on machine and OBI performance. Warm-up and QA of CT simulator. Reorder of supplies pertaining to treatment and simulation. Maintain patients treatment EMR. Accurate charge code per patient. Maintains notes on any unusual or complicated setups in the patients EMR. All scheduling of treatment times for patients. Maintain and perform weekly portal images. |
