Radiation Therapist
Part Time - First Shift

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the radiation therapist uses ionizing-radiation producing equipment to administer therapeutic doses of radiation as prescribed by the physician for each patient undergoing a prescribed course of radiotherapy. Other responsibilities include patient scheduling and education, maintaining treatment equipment and records, monitoring treatment area, and other duties as needed. This individual will be patient centered, exhibit technical expertise, possess good communication skills, and demonstrate a high level of team unity.
Accurately delivers a planned course of radiotherapy by administering treatment in a safe manner. Monitors and reports any adverse effects, reactions, therapeutic responses and incompatibilities, and withholds treatment when conditions warrant consultation with the Radiation Oncologist before proceeding.
Demonstrates how to use Linacs and CT simulator and perform patient treatments.
Provides patient education and excellent customer relations skills.
Correctly documents and captures charges for procedures.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Education - graduate of an Accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Licensure - registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy. State Radiation Operator Certification.
New graduates will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must pass boards within 3 months of hire.
