Job Description
We are looking to add a drafter to our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team before one of our experienced drafters retires. The new drafter will spend 90% of their day at a CAD station developing detailed part and assembly drawings for mechanical equipment, including equipment, conveyors, air filtration, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. The majority of the work involves parts and assemblies rather than whole systems.
Responsibilities
Interpret existing prints, locate and modify existing drawings, and release them for production.
Provide engineering support for the sales team.
Create installation drawings.
Specify and locate individual components.
Occasional travel to customer sites to take measurements (once going permanent).
Perform some filing and data entry of engineering documentation.
Essential Skills
Experience with and comfortable using AutoCAD 75% of the time.
Experience with and comfortable using Inventor 25% of the time.
Experience creating part drawings, assembly drawings, and fabrication drawings.
Experience with steel fabrication drawings (1/4 inch or more most of the time).
Ability to use a tape measure accurately to check part dimensions.
Detail-oriented and willing to pitch in anywhere.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1-2 years of experience with Inventor.
Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent.
Experience working in a fabrication environment.
Work Environment
This position involves working at a desk in your own corner for the majority of the time. The ideal candidate is someone who can sit down and get the job done without needing to socialize frequently. You will receive direction for the day and be expected to execute tasks independently, reaching out for help when needed. Extra hours may be required from October to March during the busy season, and 15% travel to customer sites for measuring may be required. The work environment is very relaxed with a supportive culture, six paid holidays, and one week of PTO. Additionally, we offer a good health benefits plan. Our organization is dynamic, fluid, and shares resources when needed. We are moving to a new, more spacious office soon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
