We are seeking a dedicated Electromechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform routine investigations and tests on transmission line components, adhering to established technical work instructions, industry standards, and procedures. This role involves mechanical and electrical tests, investigations, technical studies, data analysis, and report preparation to ensure customer satisfaction through quality and safety practices.
Responsibilities
Perform routine investigations and tests on transmission line components in accordance with established technical work instructions, industry standards, and procedures.
Conduct mechanical and electrical tests, investigations, and technical studies in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, non-destructive evaluation, and material science.
Assemble test setups with data acquisition systems.
Participate in the analysis of test results and data using standard software packages.
Prepare reports and ensure customer satisfaction by following good quality and safety practices.
Handle shipping, receiving, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Essential Skills
Experience with transmission line, lab testing, and test equipment.
Proficiency in electro-mechanical lab tests and sample preparations.
Strong data analysis skills.
Field data acquisition and laboratory testing validation.
Proficiency with testing software, fiber optic technology, vibration analysis, tensile testing, and strength analysis.
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory and testing standards.
Familiarity with Labview or similar data acquisition systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical (or Mechatronics) Technology or equivalent level of education and work experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Hands-on experience with equipment and various power tools.
Ability to move, lift, and rearrange heavy items up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.
Work Environment
The role is based in a brand new 30,000 sq/ft lab in Louisville, KY. The lab is temperature controlled and features line view robot testing, thermomechanical testing, and current cycle testing areas. The facility also includes an ArcWear division for textile testing of firefighter uniforms, with capabilities for drop tests, cutting, fire, and stress testing. The work schedule is flexible, offering either 4 10-hour days or 5 8-hour days per week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
