Come join us.Graphic DesignerReporting to the Director of Creative Services, this position is responsible for creating clear and engaging graphics that help raise awareness of our organization, its products and services, and its mission. This role provides support for quality graphic design aimed at promoting products that cater to the needs of individuals who are blind or low vision, specifically for APH products. This position will work closely with the Creative Services team, Engagement and Experience team, Project Managers, and Project Leaders in the Educational Product Innovation department, as well as with vendors and production staff for APH products and services.Location:This position is based in Louisville, Kentucky and allows for a hybrid work schedule.Compensation and Benefits$50,400.00/year - $62,500.00/year | Salary is negotiable depending on experience.Benefits:•Generous contribution to employee only health insurance premium. Organize and manage graphic design, photography, and archived artwork.•Prepare and export file formats for various printed material and digital platforms for multiple websites and social media accounts.•Edit/enhance different versions of photographs of products/people for multiple printed and digital platforms, while considering and applying accessibility needs like Alt Text and Image Description. •Help coordinate the production and design process to get files ready for printing or embossing. Implementing and applying prepress logic is a must. •Maintain open communication between departments and use our project management software to keep track of project status and progress. Collaborate closely with project managers to discuss timelines, deadlines, and tasks.•Stay updated on new design trends, techniques, and tools to enhance and promote our brand.•Complete other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications - Experience - Training•Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field.•3+ years’ experience in graphic design and some illustration.A combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted when competency in the role is demonstrated. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job.Specialized Skills and Knowledge:•Requires a strong background in graphic design, desktop publishing, and/or multimedia design with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and a solid understanding of accessibility standards for file preparation.•Promotes and ensures adherence to the highest accessibility standards in all communications from APH. Experience in creating accessible designs is an advantage.•Demonstrates robust project management experience along with a keen attention to detail.•Proficient in utilizing the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Photoshop.•Capable of identifying cost-effective solutions for producing marketing or promotional materials.•Able to articulate the rationale behind design concepts and their implementation.•Skilled in interpreting feedback to make necessary design adjustments.•Exhibits excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.•Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 and other relevant tools/software required for daily operations, such as project management tools, Teams, and SharePoint.APH IS A DRUG FREE WORKPLACE.
