The Maintenance Manager will provide technical support for the plant infrastructure (power, water, air, lighting, gas, etc). Manage projects related to electrical/mechanical support systems, building renovations and other infrastructure-related items to support manufacturing activities. Based on building needs, this role may be combined with manufacturing equipment support responsibilities. This role has a team of direct reports and coordinates all maintenance/janitorial activities on an assigned work shift.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Facilities & Maintenance: Serve as the primary contact within the plant on 3rd shift to provide technical support and consultation on the plant infrastructure and facility support systems
Provide technical expertise on plant layout, connections into/out of the plant, and in the troubleshooting of facility operational issues. Provides this technical support and expertise to Plant Operations across multiple shifts
Own and facilitate effective utilization and operation of facility support systems and structure, including lighting, air compressors, electrical (incl. breaker maintenance), plumbing, vacuum pumps, sprinklers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, boilers, heaters, electric volts, process waste, drainage, dock doors, roof, fans, back-up generator.
Conduct reasonable root cause hypothesis for equipment failure and then provide direction on corrective action
Supervise hourly bargaining unit maintenance staff by: developing, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures
Evaluating staff and making hiring and termination recommendations and addresses subordinate complaints in partnership with HR
Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal codes related to safe maintenance work practices as measured through internal department compliance audits and safety records
Coordinates all maintenance activities in the assigned area with other departments to ensure company goals are being met as measured by key performance indicators
Balances workloads and resources to achieve maximum results
Provide technical leadership to team as needed on appropriate problem resolution
Provide aid in troubleshooting and downtime response – including electrical wiring, machine controls hardware/software, PLC and high/low voltage power distribution
Responds to emergencies as requested; coordinates activities with other responders; directs the work of staff and utilization of resources to make the necessary repair in a cost-effective and timely manner
Ensures that staff is trained in complex maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures as measured by skill assessments and work order audits
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Strong problem-solving background.
Understanding of how to troubleshoot and prove circuit work.
Ability to perform basic hydraulic troubleshooting.
Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial maintenance environment.
Demonstrated ability to work and lead collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment with both salaried and union hourly personnel to meet the needs of the operators, the program, and the business.
Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
High level of initiative, energy, and motivation to develop and grow in a team environment.
Strong technical competency and experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to facilitate team projects.
Strong problem-solving and follow-through ability.
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Six Sigma certification with strong knowledge of LEAN, DMAIC, workout, and other change mechanisms.
Demonstrated leadership responsibility in a union manufacturing environment.
Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
Demonstrated accomplishments showing results-driven methodology, analytical methods, schedule achievement, and teamwork.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with salaried and hourly team members to meet the needs of the customer.
Excellent presentation skills and solid verbal/written communication skills.
