Job Description
BAE is seeking a talented and experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and develop its Machining Engineering staff. As Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will play a key role supporting and collaborating with Operations to ensure scheduled machining activities are safely and efficiently accomplished with properly prepared, vetted, and applied machining programs, processes, tooling, and fixtures to apply to our machining strategy and portfolio. You also will be responsible for identifying, creating, and execution of process improvements and associated budgets. Collaborating closely with various teams, you will ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget while maintaining a high level of quality and adherence to organizational objectives.
Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
Create and lead a highly organized, standardized, and effective machining support team capable of supporting a 24/7 machining operation.
Oversees project logistics and resource allocation.
Improves efficiency and sustainability of processes against site metrics.
Professionally develop the machining engineering support staff.
Research and proposal of capital investments to improve throughput.
Support customers meetings, and on-site supplier visits.
Ensures sustained team security and success through resource advocacy.
Actively work to lower part cost without negatively impacting safety, schedule, or quality.
Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers.
Work with the capital function to justify, sell, and successfully implement new machining equipment and technology.
Serve as a resource to the BAE procurement function when parts must be outsourced or to support vendors producing parts for BAE.
Create annual department spend and billable hour budgets and adhere to them.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Machining or similar role
Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
Communication skills for overseeing staff and working with other management personnel.
Familiarity using Quality Management Software (TIPQA)
Knowledge using WindchillPLM system
Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously.
Knowledge and understanding of machine tools, processes, and programming.
Expert-level knowledge of sector technology and processes
Proficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders
Ability and willingness to challenge complacency
US citizenship or permanent resident status (green card)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Prior programming experience
Expert knowledge of machining and programming
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
Strong familiarity with Siemans and Fanuc controls
Experience using CNC verification/machine simulation software.
Lean manufacturing experience.
Leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and mentoring
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges
Organizational, planning, and documentation skills

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $133333 - $226667
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
