Job Summary:
The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation, maintains treatment records, participates in patient care, maintains equipment, monitors and maintains the treatment environment, and participates in departmental activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Administers ionizing radiation.
2. Maintains electronic treatment record.
3. Participates in all areas of patient care.
4. Maintains treatment equipment.
5. Monitors and maintains treatment area.
6. Participates in other departmental activities.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
A. Required certification as a radiologic technologist qualified in radiation therapy (RTT) (American registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)).
B. Certification by the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy as a Radiation Operator (KBIMRT).
C. BCLS required
